Terms of Use
1. Acceptance of These Terms
By downloading, installing, or using StrongLight (“the app”, “the service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the app.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and the operator of StrongLight, an individual developer based in India (“StrongLight”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). Our Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
If you are using StrongLight on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
2. About the Service
StrongLight is an AI-powered photo lighting application, currently available on iOS, that applies professional lighting styles to photos. You select a photo from your device, choose a lighting style, and the app returns an enhanced version. Each enhancement costs one or more credits, depending on the feature used.
The service is provided on a pay-per-use basis (credit packs) or via a monthly subscription. Lifetime access may be available separately.
The service requires an internet connection to function. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may take the service offline for maintenance at any time.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use StrongLight (16 in the EEA). By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have your parent or guardian’s permission.
You must have a valid account with our supported sign-in and payment providers and comply with their terms and conditions to use the app and make in-app purchases.
4. Your Account
StrongLight uses a third-party sign-in provider for authentication (currently Sign in with Apple). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your sign-in credentials and device. We are not liable for any loss arising from unauthorised access to your account.
You may only hold one account. Creating duplicate accounts to circumvent credit limits, promo code restrictions, or any other limitation is not permitted and may result in termination of all associated accounts.
Your account and any credits or access grants associated with it are personal to you and may not be transferred, sold, or shared with another person.
5. Credits
What credits are. Credits are a prepaid digital balance that lets you use the enhancement service. One credit is deducted each time you successfully enhance a photo. Credits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for money.
Credits do not expire. Credits you purchase remain in your account indefinitely, unless your account is terminated for a breach of these Terms, in which case unused credits are forfeited.
Failed enhancements. If an enhancement attempt fails due to a service error on our side, the deducted credit will be automatically refunded to your balance.
No refunds. All credit purchases are final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law or Apple’s refund policy. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple through the App Store.
Adjustments. We reserve the right to adjust credit prices or the number of credits included in a pack at any time. Any such change will not affect credits you have already purchased.
6. Subscriptions
Auto-renewal. Subscription plans automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Renewal charges are processed by our payment provider.
Periodic credit grant. Each billing period, your subscription adds a fixed number of credits to your account. These credits accumulate alongside any credits you have already purchased — they do not expire and are not forfeited when your subscription renews.
Cancellation. You can cancel a subscription at any time through your account settings with the relevant payment provider. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to your subscription credits until then.
Price changes. If we increase the subscription price, we will give you advance notice. Continued use of the subscription after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
Billing. All subscription billing is handled by our payment provider. We do not have access to your payment details. For billing disputes, contact your payment provider’s support.
7. Promo Codes
Promo codes may be issued at our discretion and are subject to the specific terms communicated at the time of distribution. General rules that apply to all promo codes:
- One redemption per account, unless otherwise stated.
- Promo codes have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another account.
- We reserve the right to expire, revoke, or disable a promo code at any time, including if we suspect misuse or if the code was obtained through unauthorised means.
- Credits or access grants issued via promo codes are subject to the same terms as purchased credits.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use StrongLight to:
- Upload photos that you do not own or do not have the right to use.
- Upload photos containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that sexualises minors. We will report any such content to the relevant authorities.
- Upload photos of other people without their consent, particularly in contexts where they would have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the app or the AI prompts used.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other means to make bulk or unauthorised requests to the service.
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features or usage limits.
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
We reserve the right to terminate accounts that breach these rules without notice and without refund of any unused credits.
9. Your Photos and AI Output
Ownership of your photos. You retain all rights to the photos you submit. We do not claim any ownership over your original images or the enhanced versions returned to you.
Licence to process. By submitting a photo, you grant us a limited, temporary licence to transmit and process that image solely for the purpose of applying the lighting enhancement you requested. This licence ends the moment the enhanced image is returned to your device. We do not store your photos.
AI-generated output. The enhanced image is produced using AI — which may include our own models, third-party AI services, or a combination of both. Results may vary. We do not warrant that the output will meet your expectations or be suitable for any particular purpose.
No body modification. The AI processing behind every enhancement is explicitly constrained to prohibit any alteration to body shape, size, proportions, or muscle structure. Only lighting, contrast, shadow, and colour are modified. Results may occasionally vary — if you notice an issue, please contact us.
Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for how you use, share, or publish enhanced images. We are not liable for any consequences arising from your use of AI-enhanced content.
10. Intellectual Property
All elements of StrongLight — including the app, its design, lighting style names, prompts, and underlying technology — are the intellectual property of StrongLight or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the service.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from any part of the service without our prior written consent.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
StrongLight is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular enhancement result will be achieved. AI outputs are probabilistic and may not always meet your expectations.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties. If you are a consumer in such a jurisdiction (including the EEA, UK, or Australia), statutory rights that cannot be excluded by contract remain unaffected.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StrongLight’s total liability to you for any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to StrongLight in the twelve months preceding the claim.
In no event shall StrongLight be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, or goodwill — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that consumer protection law in your jurisdiction does not permit to be excluded.
13. Termination
By you. You may stop using StrongLight at any time. To delete your account and associated data, contact us at privacy@stronglight.app. Unused credits are forfeited upon account deletion and are not refundable.
By us. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately, without notice, if you breach these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use of the service is harmful to us, other users, or third parties. In the event of termination for breach, unused credits are forfeited.
Effect of termination. On termination, your right to use the service ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.
14. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
If you are a consumer in the EEA, UK, or Australia, the above choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory protections afforded by the consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Such mandatory protections apply in addition to, and are not limited by, these Terms.

15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date above. If the changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, by displaying a notice in the app or sending an email if you have provided one.
If you do not agree with updated Terms, you may stop using the service and request account deletion. Continued use of StrongLight after updated Terms take effect constitutes your acceptance of those Terms for contract-based uses of the service.
